Pev's Paintball was founded in 1993 by Mike "Pev" Peverill. Pev accumulated product as prizes from tournament winnings and sponsorships he received from vendors in the paintball industry. Since Pev had everything he needed from his sponsors to compete, the prizes were stored away. Through word of mouth, his friends and other paintball players would contact him when they needed equipment. All the equipment was brand new and still in the original packaging. Pev realized there was a need for a Paintball Pro Shop so others could buy products without having to order it from a mail order catalogue. Pev opened up his first store in empty space adjacent to his office. Now Pev's Paintball has become the leader in Paintball Pro Shops nationwide and is currently the "Largest Paintball Only Retail Chain in the United States".
The name Pev came from his last name Peverill. As a young kid growing up, Pev was one of six kids with the name Mike in his neighborhood. Pev's soccer coach was the father of one those Mikes and to avoid confusion, identified the other Mikes by their last name. Eventually, Peverill was shortened to Pev and it has carried with him since he was 10 years old.
Pev has been playing paintball since 1985 and has been working in the paintball industry since 1991. Pev retired playing professional paintball in 1999 after an eventful career with Bad Company. Here are a few their accomplishments:
NPPL Pittsburgh Open 1995 1st Place
NPPL World Cup 1996 2nd Place
Australian National Championships 3rd Place
